Our Business

 

Liveware Human Factors (HF) Ltd is a small design consultancy set up in 1986 specialising in control room design and manning for military and industrial applications. Specific skills include task and training needs analysis, workload assessments, Human Computer Interface (HCI) design and prototyping.  In April 2017, Liveware published a guidance book on HF through Wiley. Tex Crampin

 

 

Tex Crampin started working in Human Factors at GEC-Marconi on the Nimrod and Merlin sonar systems. He then moved to Singer Link-Miles to set up the Human Factors Group responsible for simulation and training. He flew the Harrier T2 to establish precise military user needs for low-level ground attack, air-to-air re-fuelling, carrier deck landing and helicopter operations. Tex led the Training Needs Analyses for Submarines and Army fighting vehicles then set up Liveware Human Factors Ltd in 1986 in collaboration with Cambridge Consultants Ltd. Key work has been undertaken on the design of operational compartments for the new Aircraft Carriers and prototyping of colour HCIs. Tex lectures to MOD staff at Portsdown.
